General Power of Attorney

The Wills & Probate department of Jeary & Lewis Solicitors has been acquired by Business Lawyers Limited t/a Aston Brooke Solicitors.

A General Power of Attorney is required when an individual is physically unable to carry out their financial affairs, but still has the mental capacity to make decisions.

If the financial burden is not too great and involves only day to day transactions, a trusted relative or friend can be appointed by the individual to act on their behalf.

It can also be used by an able bodied person who wishes an Attorney to take care of their finances while they are away; in hospital or out of the country, for example.

A General Power of Attorney is a simple and easy document to operate and can be really helpful if your circumstances call for it.
